The beautiful art of getting lost

A project about getting lost and the notion of home, commissioned by Design Hotels.

“If the purpose of getting lost is to find yourself in a new place, if you don’t know what this new place is, if the way there might be what you are looking for and it doesn’t matter where you will end up because there is no wrong way to get there, then nothing is really lost.”

I tried to get lost in the city I live in, to see it with new eyes, to let myself be led by things that caught my attention, following scents, people, my gut-feeling, colours, the change in the light. I collected everything I found on my path that could be tied together, pieces of string, garlands, rubber bands, and rolled it up in a ball. Afterwards, I embroidered my route (recorded by GPS) on the jacket I was wearing during the walk. The story about the walk was published in the Design Hotels Magazine and can be read HERE.
