A Soft Armour 2

108 embroideries on the inside of a three-piece suit that was worn for 108 days, every day 2 photos were posted online, one showing me in the suit on that day and one showing that day’s “invisible” embroidery. The back of the jacket had an embroidered QR code that linked to the blog with the photos. While the visible outside got more worn out in time, the invisible inside became more beautiful every day. Some embroideries depicted things that had happened in the world on the day they were embroidered (the death of Margaret Thatcher, the pope resigning), others were inspired by thoughts, local events or imagination, some in the form of drawings, some text-based. I called the suit my “soft armour” and I had decided (with some help of Thoreau) I had to wear it until the wearer had transformed. That happened on day 109 when I realised I had to quit aiming for an academic career and start walking. Start and never stop. So I walked in my first, my original soft armour through the city. Naked. Afterwards, I had this “title” tattooed on my left shoulder.
