A Soft Armour 5
A long distance performative walk (1364 kilometre) in a business suit from Amsterdam (NL) to the Nomadic Village at Hohe Wand (AU). 96 days surviving on the road, sharing with people, collecting stories, embroidering them on my suit and writing them down online with the help of my solar powered iPad. Every day I collected everything I found on my walk that I could tie together (pieces of string, ropes, etc.) and made a ball out of it, representing that day’s walk, the road resembling the line of the tied material, every knot representing a meeting on the road. The balls, or “ramblers rosary” as somebody called it, were presented at the Schmiede festival in Hallein (AU) and at the Frans Hals Museum/De Hallen Haarlem in the exhibition “Travel Fever”.
